Hard Corns
Corns can be particularly painful and by their nature, appear in the very places our feet connect with our footwear and the floor. Hard corns are hyperkeratotic lesions or dead nuclei of skin that become embedded in the surrounding tissue and often become covered in hard skin, adding to the discomfort. They are the result of focused pressure on a point and may be due to footwear, lifestyle, mechanical issues or changes in how our foot meets the floor. We will remove or 'enucleate' corns embedded in the skin so that you will regain comfort of that area of your foot. We will also consider the causes and the options available as preventative measures.
Soft Corns
You may also experience "soft corns" which are typically within the interdigital space between our toes. These are the result of skin absorbing moisture, oils and secretions. Our treatments remove corns and we can provide dressings, padding and advice on causal factors.
Callus
Callus or hard, thickened skin, is also a hyperkeratotic lesion but spread out over an area of our foot. It is result of friction and shearing forces between skin and our footwear. It can appear on any surface and can cause pain and discomfort. Our treatment will remove the callus and offer advice on the causes and potential options to reduce or minimise its formation.
Verrucae
Caused by a viral infection, verrucae are warts that invade your skin. Following an initial assessment, our clinical team will advise on a treatment plan utilising Verrutop. Verrutop is a new type of wart treatment. Unlike Cryotherapy or other chemical treatments, Verrutop does not act by freezing or burning the tissue. Instead, it denatures the viral protein and desiccates the wart tissue, which then falls off the skin, leaving intact skin underneath.
Cracked Heels
Cracked heels can make every step we make feel sore and painful. We can help improve the condition of your skin and reduce discomfort
Diabetic Foot care
Those affected by diabetes will have been advised by their doctor or nurse of the importance of looking after their feet. We offer a regular diabetic foot care service to our patients to provide confidence in this aspect of their care needs.
Fungal Nails
Our feet operate in enclosed, humid and moist conditions within our footwear. This can provide the ideal conditions for fungi to grow and an infection in our nails can create problems. We can offer a range of treatments and advise on further treatments you may need to address this condition
Nail Trimming
